1. What we collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide. Specifically:
- Waitlist signups (pre-launch): name, email, organization, state, category (founder, investor, incubator, ecosystem body, other), and optional notes. We log basic request metadata (IP, browser type) to prevent spam.
- Google sign-in (pre-launch): when you sign in with Google we receive your email address and basic profile info (name, photo URL). If your email is on the team allowlist, you're signed in. Otherwise we add your email to the waitlist and let you know.
- Entity submissions (post-launch): listing details (name, description, state, sectors, website, founding year), the contact email you provide, and the email of the account that submitted it.
- Claim requests: the claimant's account email and any verification evidence they upload.
2. How we use your data
Waitlist data is used solely to email you when the directory opens publicly. We don't share waitlist data with third parties. Entity submission data populates the public directory once approved.
3. What's public
Approved entity listings are public and indexable. Public fields include: name, description, state, sector, website, and (for startups) founding year and stage. Contact emails are kept private and never shown to anonymous visitors. Waitlist signups are never public.
4. What's private
Contact emails, contact-only listing fields, and all waitlist entries are readable only by the directory's administrators (and, for entity contact fields, by the listing owner). We do not sell, rent, or syndicate contact data.
5. Google sign-in
Sign-in uses Google. We request only your email address and basic profile info — we do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google service. You can revoke our access at any time via your Google Account permissions page.
6. Cookies & analytics
We use a single first-party authentication cookie to keep team members signed in during pre-launch. We use Google Analytics for aggregate pageview metrics. We do not run third-party ad-retargeting pixels. You can block analytics via your browser's tracking-protection settings or extensions.
7. Your rights
You can request data export, correction, or deletion at any time. A contact channel will be published once the directory opens to the public. Listing-owner accounts will be able to edit or remove their listing directly post-launch.
8. Data retention
Waitlist entries are retained until launch plus 90 days, then deleted unless you've actively engaged (claimed a listing, signed in, etc.). Entity listings are retained for as long as they remain in the directory.
9. Contact
A privacy contact channel will be published on the directory once it launches publicly.
